So my duck has hatched 5 ducks and one chicken 🤦‍♀️ I have taken it away as I was told it would end up getting drown because it would follow the ducklings into the stream here. Our poultry are all very free range! I have the chick in the house but it’s pretty upset. Eating and pooping but should I leave it with the duck? Or should I mammy it more?! It’s in a cat box in the kitchen fine and warm!

you could go to the local feed store and get another chick. that's what I did. when my bird Dos died, Uno was crying for hours and seemed really sad, so I went to my local TSC and got another Plymouth, and a pair of Americanas. Uno was really happy, and she's still friends with Frankie(the replacement Plymouth).

I’m not near anybody or anywhere that might have chicks. I’m on a tiny island north of the shetland isles. Silly duck wasn’t meant to sit! It’s eating and drinking fine and only 2 days old so it will maybe settle? It quiets if I sing to it 😂

I assume you have other chickens?
Can you safely set up a brooder in the chicken coop?

ETA: curious how a chicken eggs was incubated with duck eggs,
don't duck eggs take like 28-34 days vs 21 for chickens?
