Looks like the egg didn’t get the brown color “painted” onto the shell. If a pullet or hen is stressed or spooked during laying it could cause her to rush the egg out without it getting “painted”.View attachment 1271141so today I go look in my coop for eggs and find this olive colored egg in there. My regular size hens are a red star a broiler and of course a lavender Easter egger and 3 bantams and a serama im pretty sure my EE layed it. But she usually lays green mint colored eggs as far as i know EE's usually stick to one color don't they?

So why would it be darker (olive) she usually layes light green (mint) eggs unless one of my other hens layed it which I doubt.Looks like the egg didn’t get the brown color “painted” onto the shell. Well my other hens are a red star, a broiler hen, an american game hen, 2 d'ucle bantams, a Cochin bantam, and a serama. So she is the main suspect my other hens lay white, cream colored eggs and brownish eggsOh I misunderstood. I thought that she usually lays olive eggs but laid a mint egg this time. Wow I did not know that but is she an olive egger then or and Easter egger or can they be both? They can lay many shades of the same color. Your girl is obviously doing the green thing but don't be surprised if she lays almost blue or even a darker green.![]()
