If your're getting your eggs wednesday, yes I'd go ahead and start it so you can get the temps adjusted up and that it's been running a couple of days with the temp where it needs to be.

You need to have air circulation around the incubator.

It also needs to be in an area where there are no drafts and the temperature does not drop or increase more than 10 degrees.

As far as the humidity, fill one and see where that gets you. You have a couple days before the eggs get there. If it's not enough you can fill another later.

You really need to use a hygrometer to get the humidity correct, rather than rely on those arbitrarily/generically designed channels.

I don't even use those channels on my hovabator anymore, I just use the middle one and then i have my own little dishes with sponges and use the vents/plugs in order to regulate humidity in accordance with the hygrometer.

Also, I'm probably starting to sound like the "humidity police" around here, but I highly recommend reading this thread:

Best of luck!

Add water a little at a time until you get the humidity where it needs to be. It depends on where you live and the humidity in the room you put it in how much water you'll need to add.
