My Eggs from Sonew arrived!! I HAVE A BABY!!!!!!!!!

Oh rot!

I should've saved those eggs then. I thought they were goners for sure, but maybe not. Thanks for that thread. It explains this much better. I have eggs coming this week, and it might save some if there is a problem. I keep learning more things about this everyday.

Yeah, I'm learning, too. I'll probably be one who won't throw out an egg til it oozes or stinks now because I see reports of people getting results that even they never thought they would sometimes.

All 16 eggs went in the bator about 5:30pm today. Temp dropped quickly, even though they weren't that cold, to 93.2. I suppose it will take some time to stabilize again?? It was holding steady before that. Humidity is at 28-30, so I think I'm good with that.

That's what I've been told. Same thing happened when I put eggs in today. It is not a problem as I understand, just an aerobic heart exercise for the incubator -me.

Yes, you are fine...patience :) the temps will climb back up but it takes a few hours. Humidity is fine too:) yeah...you did it! Now 21 days to go!!!!

I feel like such an idiot!! I just realized that the reason my humidity is so low is because I ran the probe into the bator and left the unit outside. I saw someone post on here about that and just placed mine in. My humidity was in the 70's!!! I removed all the water and wiped it down. Of course the bator was open, so now it's back down in temp. Put everything back in. Still says humidity is 66. Should I take the eggs out and let it level back out til the morning. They were in there for about 2 hours before this. If a single egg survives my bumbling efforts its gonna be a miracle. ARRRGGGHHHH.

This is what I would (IMO) put the top on and walk away from the bator...The humidity will eventually die down...I go a long time beofre ever adding more water-dayyysss...The only thing I would do right now is just keep an eye on temp. Dont touch it unless it goes over 101.5 then tweak it a little to go down-it will take hours for it to stabalize since the lid was off for a bit. eggs in.... top on...WALK AWAY FROM THE BATOR

We'll get you through this-its fun dont let it stress you...Listen to me... Im going on lockdown in 2 days and I cant stand the wait...LOL...your doing great..

OMG, I've been reading this and am as excited as you guys are. I will track and cannot wait to see your babies. I'm hoping to get an incubator and get some eggs to hatch too. Good luck I'll keep my fingers crossed!! Lynn

Thank you so new for talking me off the ledge! I did just put the eggs back (had to take them out to get everything out and emptied) and closed the lid. The humidity has already gone down to 63 in a few short minutes. I am going to relax... yeah... I am.

Seriously, I'll be a nutcase before lockdown. Betcha you feel like you're just waiting for labor to start, huh?

Owen's Mom - thanks for hanging out with us!
