I am almost positive the two I mentioned are quitters. Should I take them out? I see a dark area, but it's not even half the egg. And they don't look like the other eggs for sure. At this point, I think if they were good they'd be more than half the egg wouldn't they? Is there a chance they'll explode? And one of the detached cell eggs has what looks like a lot of development, but the cell still seems to move. It does not go to the top. Should I lay that egg down so that the cell is on the top that way? I'm not sure what to do with it. Because if I leave it sitting up, and it pips the top, won't it drown?

Also, with the dry hatch, what to bump up the humidity to?

oooh Im not 100% sure what to do withthat question? I would still do what your doing with all the others and let mother nature take it course. Ive seen chicks pip in all sorts of places and still make it out When my eggs came last week I never checked for the detached air cells-like I said before-I just put them in and they all seemed fine when candled Thursday The humidity get up to AT least 60-65% my humidity never went above 68% and they did great...

Ok... Lockdown has begun. The humidity is rising, adding a bit at a time til I get it there. I left the two questionable eggs. So 10 are in! Now I just sit on my hands and hold my breath. I did not candle again, except for the two I worried about. Since I see something, I can't bring myself to throw them out. Hope I don't regret that...

Well, the bator's at it again. It was 103.7 when I woke up this morning. Don't know how high it got because I can't open the top to check the temp history on the thermometer that's in there. Learn, Learn, Learn!! Ugh. Humidity holding at 69% where it's been since last night. I don't know if it got even higher than that because I unhooked the light again. This bator has never, ever done this. I did bump the therm down last night when I opened the lid. But obviously not enough. I was afaid to make a drastic move. I don't understand how this bator held so well with me hand turning and candling all those days (besides the one spike, and even that was a one time thing) and now it;s like it's reset itself to 103 or higher as soon as lockdown begins.

Seriously, if those old timers could hatch on a window screen with a light over it and pot of warm water under it, and I know it was done that way because I've seen it, why is an incubator so hard.

Go bcm7!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see the babies!! When I did dry incubation last Spring I kep humidity at 60% but think that a little higher the last 3 days would have been better! Good Luck!

thanks, lovinmypeeps! At this point I just need to watch as much as I can, but I have to sleep. We need to invent Lamaze for hatching. At this point I am scared they are all dead, though... especially if it went back to 110 again!
