I soooo Wish you luck chicka!!! so whats the game plan in the bator, how long no turn and you have a turner? sorry I forget these thingsSo I got my eggs today, came home to find them sitting outside my garage, wrapped in a plastic bag. The temp was 44 degrees and raining. The mail never gets here before about 4:30 in the afternoon, but today it came before 1:30, go figure. I ordered 6 silver laced wyandottes, 6 white d'uccles, 6 blue orpingtons got 8, 6 columbian Cochin's got 11. I Cochin was cracked pretty bad so I tossed that one.
1 white d'uccle was cracked a little on the big end, so I covered the crack with candle wax, we'll see how it developes. Their sitting on my dining room table resting now. Only saw 2 detached air cells, but I'm not an expert at candling. I'll set them in the bator tomorrow night. Wish my little eggies luck....
I know right! But you cant yell at your worker, most likely its a big city sorting facility you would think they would have cameras!!Sally i don't think i would be a nice guy if my eggs looked like the first picture to the right. I have talked to a few guys that worked for ups. The stories they tell of how packages are rolled , pitched , punted and god knows what else is unbelievable. Sad thing is it's the company and the almighty dollar that causes it. Stories if your not fast enough your fired.
Sorry op had to rant a little lol .
I have 2 Little Giant still air incubators. I think I am going to set the larger eggs in one incubator and the small eggs in another. I don't know if egg size makes a difference in hatching, do small eggs need different humidity or temp. than large eggs? I am going to try not to turn the eggs for the first few days, and see if that helps with the hatch rate. Does this sound like a good plan![]()
