My Emu Incubating Thread (First time incubating Anything in my life)

Well, 354 broke his shell at 13:00, it's 21:00 and he is still fighting to get out! But all looks normal, it may take 24 hours before is totally out. 356 will follow, but hasn't externally pip yet, can't wait to see tomorrow morning. I think I saw 355 wiggle a little, maybe the other will encourage him to come out... We'll see. As for turning, it is important to stop turning 3-4 days before hatch to avoid desorienting the chicks. At this stage the're fully developed, to my understanding. More update tomorrow.

Good news... yesterday at 22:30, 354 finally hatch, a big baby happy to be alive! Took it to the brooder room. This morning 356 is almost completely out, I'm here again sitting in front of the incubator, waiting to take it to the brooder room with his pal..I'm so excited to see them. They are big birds, It's unbelivable that this dinosaure was in such a small eggs! More to come!

EGG C has internally pipped I belive! I heard about four soft chirps in there!
I stopped turning him yday as I thought he had shifted and wants to sit on one side.
E is still wiggling but no chirps.

Wow, that's good news, after all that work , here's your reward...! Check carefully, you might see a small hole, crack, mine starts to hatch this way, but be patient it took 10 hours to fully hatch... but that's is such a great experience. Here's a pics of my new babys, taking yesterday. They start to drink, and 354 is standing, 356 try to imitate is brother, but with many falls...! Have a nice day

I couldn't sleep AT ALL last night knowing what might be unfolding. and what little sleep I had was full of dreams of baby emus lol
Will update later. I have to work 8am-2pm today but then I have tomorrow off.. So good timing eggs haha

Hi, I still don't know for their names, I will try to sexe them before. I hope yours are going to wait for mama before hatching. I finally had a good night of sleep. Today I will weight them, and probably take them outside in the greenhouse. You're at day 52? It's close, wish you best of luck!

It is midnight here and c is hatching!! He is externally pipped. Woke up to a crack and a loud chirp and i was like oh here we go!!

3:48 am and Sayid was hatched!
We did not get very much sleep last night, needless to say. LOL I woke husband up at 11pm to tell him about the egg being pipped, and he woke me up at almost 4am to tell me that he thinks he was out of the shell! Sure enough, a clatter and a crack and he was out like lightning! Pics/videos to come. He hasn't stopped peeping since he emerged!
