my extreme heat coop and run

I think it helps a lot. It's the western exposure and gets blasted by the sun from about 2:30-4:30 pm. The extra panels prevent the full force of the sun from hitting the side of the coop. You could easily make them for yourself. I just got 6' redwood plant stakes ($1.95) at Home Depot, stapled the shade cloth to it, rolled the stick into the shade cloth a few turns and stapled again. Then I used screws to attach it to the eaves and bungy cords to connect it to stakes in the ground.

There are three grapevines in there (two Thompson Seedless and one Flame Seedless).

Intelligent design and practical application. Looks good to boot! Gotta keep that baking sun off of em most of the time. I get sun every day and lots of it, BUT it is never to hot as I live right by the Pacific Ocean. However my birds still love the shade, so I'm sure yours are happy with the cooling effect of the coop/run. Way to go!
