Yes, I did know I was having twins. My pregnancy was carefully monitored and I took good care of my body to avoid complications. We had had our hearts set on UC, but were nervous about it when we discovered the twins via ultrasound when I was almost four months pregnant. But through lots of research, determination, preparation, and lack of complications, everything turned out very well. I was 36.5 weeks along when I had them, and I had a four hour labor, from water breaking to placenta. It was wonderful, and I would do it all over again, even the labor part.
Oh, and if anyone was wondering, yes they are identical. Lol. That was an initial worry, too, because identical twins are at risk for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, and if they were monochorionic AND monoamniotic, I would have been hospitalized at 24 weeks gestation. Luckily, they were mono/di twins, like my twin brothers. Imagine having your water break twice!
