Well two days ago I moved my small pullets and ducks to the big coop and moved my turkey and silver laced to my little coop. They big ones free range so the small coop is only for night. When I let the turkey and silver laced out they went directly to the old coop. The turkey sat around it all day and It started to storm so I let her in hoping she’d just want out and leave them alone. Well I couldn’t leave my silver laced all alone so I let her in too. Now this turkey is a meat bird (I will never eat her, im emotionally attached) she has huge feet and weighs more than wild toms. I was afraid she’d step on one of the littles but nope. It got pretty cold so I had a heat lamp out there. Well my turkey sleeps on the ground and never near where I hung the lamp. So I went to check on them today and ducks 8 baby chicks are snuggled around my turkey like she is a hen she also managed to lay an egg while they slept with her all night. She never ever goes near where the lamp is hung except this time
