Wow... I wonder if it fell out of a shipment of layers that were on a semi...They only use the hens for a little while... that one may have fallen off in a crate or something and gotten really lucky... i would say hen.... clipped beak is a good clue... Good job!!!

OOPs forgot to ad that the blackened comb could be from cage trama.... blood etc... I would do some more checking to be sure... My rooster beats himself up on his fence when a hen sneaks out and his comb takes a real beating.
