I have been hatching eggs since January and have ranged from 12% to 67% hatches. These have all been eggs that were purhcased and shipped. But 3 weeks ago, I decided to hatch some of my pure White Leghorn's and some of my Silkies. So I set 3 White Leghorn eggs and 4 Silkie eggs. They started hatching yesterday and this morning, I have 7 healthy baby chicks. Talk about satisfaction!!
I am very happy that next year, I will have breeding trios of several breeds and will be able to offer hatching eggs and sell pure chicks that I hatch from my eggs. I plan on only selling locally as I do not want to get into shipping, etc.
