Thank you.Good luck!
Do you have any more hens that have access to Charlotte?
Did you get the pictures? All phones and flashlights are different.
I am going to see if I can show you just how different my two are.
I'm going to get pictures of one egg with each, my real flashlight vs my phone flashlight, and show you what I see.
Thank you.
No Charlotte is in a kit coop by herself and the other 4 chickens are in the main coop.
2 monthsAwesome. I was gonna say mark the eggs in case any others gave her moreBut no need to do that. Lucky you
Oh, and you asked if they will sit longer than 21 days. I have some that have been sitting for 2 months. I’m bad about letting several sit together. Then some hatch and one momma takes the babies and the others stay put until it’s their turn to take the babies. Lol
Google fertilized chicken eggs. Fertilized eggs have a bullseye in the yolk that is absent in unfertilized eggs. If you crack open a few and find fertility, you can wager your rooster is doing his job. I wouldn’t set just one in case that one happens not to be fertile, but maybe a few?I haven a gal who has been broody for two weeks or so and I have thought about just taking a mixed egg and putting it under her to see if she will hatch or what type of mother she will be. We have only had the flock for a little over a month or so and I don’t know the birds enough to know their brood I was etc.. what do I look for when looking for fertilized eggs. Will I be able to tell if the egg is fertilized or not? We have a roo I’m just not sure he’s fertilizing all of the gals lol
