Three weeks ago I put some eggs from my GLW over SLW breeding pen into one of my incubators. The following short video is the first chick to hatch on my farm since I don't know when.
Stay tuned for more pictures from this hatch.

The first chick hatched at about 5:30pm tonight.

This picture was taken just now.

What kind of chicken are they?
A Gold Laced Wyandotte cock with Silver Laced Wyandotte hens.
These chicks will have gold down on the faces of the females and silver down on the faces of the males.
The female chicks will be pure GLW, the male chicks will be split for gold/silver and will appear silver because silver is dominant.

Tonight my son checked on the chicks for me. He removed a lot of the empty eggshells and told me that there is only one egg left that hasn't hatched. So out of 42 eggs set on day one, 5 were removed on day 8 as infertile. That left 37 that went into lockdown.

I'll be driving out to the farm in the morning when I get off work to transfer them out of the incubator and into the brooder pen.
