My First Coop

Thought I would share a few pics. I’m going to have 2 large doors for raking into a wheel barrow.
I‘m sort of dreaming it up as I go.

It will be 4x7 with the nesting boxes attached to the outside.
I have 6 chicks arriving in 2 weeks.
RI Red, Speckled Sussex, New Hampshire, Black Minorca, Ameraucana, Delaware.

Looks good so far.

Make sure that you put plenty of ventilation right up at the roofline -- because heat and ammonia both rise -- and generous roof overhangs to keep things dry.

And I took out just a bit too much wood maybe on the birds mouth. But, we get no snow and I don’t think we will be having a barn dance up there.
