My first egg hatched! **UPDATE** Chick died

maybe after the first chick it broke her broody spell it does happened i believe some people said ti would do u have a incubator set up? it could also be that another hen forced her out of the nest box and thats what caused the eggs to be dispearsed

My 12 yr old daughter and I are going to build an incubator (similar to MissPrissy's) and hatch our own eggs!

How long can I collect eggs before they need to go under a hen or in a bator? I don't want to raise chicks in my house, so I would like to have a broody hen so I can let her raise them.

for a goos hatch 3 or 4 days max but you can keep them longer but the longer you wait the lower the hatch rate gets

yes you can do eggs for or 5 days just not as good chance as them hatching but it is a possibility so yea hurry up on that bator
