My First Egg

It is so cool to get that first egg. Swear wated a long 7 months for mine. Now just need them to stop sitting on them.

Your not a dummy. Tunnel nests are not too common...it is a long wood tunnel 16 inches wide x 8 feet long with an entrance on both ends. Inside the tunnel are 7 small partitions to help keep the straw in. The hens go in the tunnel and lay. It is a type of community nest. They like it because it is very dark inside the tunnel. I'm in the middle of building it and trying to figure out how to mount it to the outside of my coop. When finished I will post some pics.

Been a long time since my first egg but I still have the same feeling of wonderment when a new girl starts laying

They are like little miracles with so much potential --- they can either be 'the incredible edible egg' or the beginning of a new life
