My husband was so disappointed when (his chicken lol) laid her first egg. Our EE’s egg is blah blah some undescript kinda beige. I could see it in his eyes. Kinda like when you get a sweater for Xmas. Poor guy. Lol

Lol! Well it felt like Christmas here today, but in a good way.

I do the same thing! I have three hens, identical breed, same age, but they just started laying and there's a distinct difference in their egg's appearance.

As long as I am not the only one!!

It was a double yolker!!! What does that even mean for a first egg?

Well that means the yolk formed yesterday but not the shell so when the new yolk was created today and the shell formed around both yolks! Happens frequently with new layers. Congrats!

Oh, neat. I was under the impression it happened more with older layers as the eggs got bigger.
