My First Egg

I was feeding my Black Copper Marans tonight and one of my hens laid her first egg. WOO HOO..I have four roosters too that I need to get rid of. They are such gorgeous roosters I could not possibly put them in my stew pot.

I got my 1st egg today from the chicks I raised! I had an older hen I bought and shes been laying, but this is from my babies! And its my 1st time having chickens. So very special indeed! And its from my favorite chicken, the Buff Orphington named Sugar.


Here are my girls this week. The lil OE Blue Brassy Back is the adult I bought, shes 4 months older than they are and has been laying all season. But like I said she was laying when I got her. The rest of the chicks I raised.
