My first eggie!

I was looking for good feathers for my friend and i open up my coop to see a egg! Im pretty sure my bantom laid it because shes the oldest i have and its pretty small. I dont know what to do with it since its my first egg.

Its the size of a mini bic lighter if that helps anyone (i cant upload pics for some reason)

Congratulations on your first egg! When hens first start laying it isn't uncommon for the eggs to be really small. I will never forget when I found my first egg. It is actually the egg in my profile pic and the Buff Orpington that laid it is in the background of the photo.

Oh first eggs are the best . Be patient till she gets it right. I love those little baby eggs. They are so small and cute.

I have! Ive gotten 5 eggs from her and im waiting for the rest of my chickens to start laying

Congrats on your first egg! I’m also got my first three eggs this week. They are from my brown leghorns. They are small but I assume they get bigger? They said large eggs are normal. I am just happy I have eggs!!! Woo hoo!!!

Congrats!! Yes the eggs will get bigger as the hens grow and mature.
