We have 4 chickens in the coop together and 3 silkies in a separate coop. The four in the big coop are RIR, buff orpington, Easter egger and a barred rock. I haven't been checking for eggs as faithfully as I should, and there were two in there yesterday. The first eggs! They looked the same in color but when I rinsed them off they were totally different and one got super dark and the other stayed light. I'm wondering if that is common or if two different chickens laid them? My flock is 23 weeks old and these are the first eggs I've ever gotten!
