Definitely has got to be a conjoined twin. I had a conjoined twin embryo...didn't get past day 10 or so...very glad it didn't. Ugghhh...horrible and fascinating!
That was creepy... in a fascinating wierd kind of way... but I must admit... the more I studied the pictures the more grossed out I got...
I have had a chick that hatched and died shortly after because it's abdomen was deformed and it never absorbed the egg yolk. But nothing comparable to this one! Wow!
It did freak me out at first, and I kind of still am. I almost had that jerk reaction (almost flung it away from me) when I first saw it, but I didn't. I did not know if others would be interested in this weird experience, but I figured I would share.
Looks to me like there was some problem when the egg was splitting to twins...think like a siamese sort of thing...looks like the cells started to split at the top of the chick (hence the two top beaks and extra eye) but stopped for some reason. Very interesting...thanks for sharing
