my first fertile egg o' the season

2 / 18  ... had two more hatch overnight, one crapped out (never pipped, but went full term, yolk fully absorbed)  --- on the 2 that did hatch, i heard them pipping for 24 hours with no external pip, so i poked a small hole in the air cell end -- no other intervention and they hatched fine  ... the 3rd one, i did nothing -- never internally pipped, but i might've been able to help it if i'd've putzed with it a little ....  i'll try to grab more pics later --- count so far is 6 that've hatched .... 5 ib's split to something  and 1 white  -- 2 more due in another 4 days, and then it's scheduled for wednesday hatches....

, bringing the total to 10 chicks so far .. weather's sucked here and i got some nasty cage cleaning to do, but i'll try to grab a few shots in the next few days ( may grab a few while i'm upstairs tonight...) ...next round on the 6/7th....

One of my peahens laid an egg, outside, maybe they know it's gonna be warm soon?

I keep hoping. My little Buff Japanese hen will be ready to sit very soon and I'd rather let her sit on pea eggs.

My adult boys have been displaying, but I haven't heard them make any noises yet. However, my horny P-Dawg, who's not two yet, tried to "ride" the dog (canine) yesterday. Pretty darn funny!

another 7 hatched yesterday --- the hens that were laying have gone broody, have seen eggs laid anywhere but under the hens for about a week now.... here's a few shots (chicks-- taken today ,
