My first Hatch-a-long!!!!! (And first hatch!)

Eggs are set!!! Day 1 is tomorrow! I’m super excited! I think I’m going to candle on day 4 just to see what I can see then on day 8,10,14, and 18. Sound good? Temp is at 99.5-99.6 and humidity is at 48-50%. I have 2 thermometers and both are just a bit of of the other one. Hopefully I get a good hatch rate considering the eggs were shipped. I’ll list the breeds I received in a minute.

So excited!!!!!! Those days sound great! Can’t wait!!

2 Appenzeller Spitzauhbens (is this how you spell it?)
2 Black Copper Marans
2 Ayam Cemanis
2 Olive Eggers

Then I have my 4 silkie eggs, 3 RIR eggs, and one EE egg!

No! All were good!

Did you have aby cracked ones?

The Maran eggs were impossible to see through though.

I would say her Maran eggs are a 6-7 right now, but if I get a hen they lay darker when they first start laying.
The little white eggs are my silkies eggs!!

Such cool breeds!! I’ve been wanting some Appenzeller Spitzhaubens for myself! But too bad we don’t have any more room!

I candled today!!! 19 out of 24 are for sure fertile, and one is a possible double yolker, but I didn’t throw any out because I feel it’s too early to know for sure. It was so cool to see! I’m debating candling on day 6 or day 8, but we’ll see. I’m so excited! Here’s a picture of one of the eggs!
