My first hatch.. I have a chick!! LOOK!! LOTS OF PICS THROUGHOUT!!

I am so excited.. my family has been watching these eggs so impatiently and excitedly!! We finally have a chick.. Oh my I never thought I would get this excited over a chick.. LOL.
Check the little guy out:

How long should I leave the little guy in there before putting him under the light?

Keep him in there for 24 hours, I believe.

Congrats! You CAN take him out of there before 24 hours has passed but best to make sure the hatch is done before you do. I just had only one hatch out of some eggs, it does happen. Though I hope you get more!

thanks guys.. a few more of the polish chicks have pip'd but none of the wellsummers have. Poor guy was flopping all over the place.. Didnt have any room to move. I opened it to remove the shell so he would have more room to move around. The bator I have is the octagon advance 20 model so it maintains the humidity and temp EXTREMELY well. Doesnt take but a few minutes to get it back to the same temperature and humidity settings. I would recommend this model to anyone. It really is a no brainer

Oh how exciting!! I don't even have my first order of 5 little day-olds and I'm already wanting to hatch some! lol But I'll just have to live vicariously through you all as I will have to keep the neighbors happy and not expand!

As silly as it sounds...my heart raced up a little when I saw your picture...it is even exciting for other folks for your chicks to hatch. Thanks for the advice on the bator...I've been considering this myself.

The white eggs are Polish and the brown ones are Welsummer. The one you see hatched is a Polish chick
