What do you think white crested blue or white crested black I cant tell from the slight glare off of incubator. Congrats to you!!
Looks light so maybe blue but can't tell for sure.

Man.. This poor thing has been by its lonesome all day long.. They werent due to hatch until tomorrow.. Hopefully it will have some friends to play with by morning.. LOL I will update with a couple more pics then

Congratulations! It hasn't been too long since I hatched my first one, so I know how exciting that can be!

We live in a very hot, humid climate so I take my chicks out once they are up on their feet and walking around well. When I take them out, I immediately put them under a light in the brooder, though. I've never waited until the entire hatch was through. I just open the incubator up quickly, take the chick out, and close it back up. I've had no problems with doing this.

If he is the only one for a while, you can put him in the brooder with a stuffed animal or rolled up towel or washcloth. We have a small stuffed animal that we have used for this purpose several times and it always seems to calm the chick down to have something soft and fuzzy to lay with.

Well I woke up to 4 welsummer's and 5 polish chickies.. Finally the little guy has some friends.. I moved them all under the light this morning.

Most of the welsummer's that are still in the bator havent pip'd yet? Any advise? These were the ones I was looking for the most to hatch.

Congrats! They are so adorable.

I was like a little girl when mine were hatching too! I even took a picture of the first pip with my cell phone and text it to my DH! Its ok though, he all ready knew I was a little nuts!!

Awwwwww! How cute. Now go take a nap - I'm sure you could use one! I am soooooo jealous. Don't have any yet and I'm already wanting more!
Now just how can I convince hubby we need to move.
