I hatched out a batch of White Ameraucanas in my Brinsea awhile back..one of the chicks drown by sticking his beak into the water bot and drowning. I suggest covering the hole up where there is no way they can drown in it. I'm kind of leary about using it for the lockdown period of the incubation now.
All 10 of the newly hatched quail chicks are now in the brooder, they are all eating and drinking and seem to be doing fine. While I was cleaning the brooder, I took a few more pictures of the chicks. There are some lovely colours, it will be great to see how the colours develop when they are fully feathered.
Here are some pictures of the 10 quail chicks at 7 days old. They are starting to grow their feathers, and are looking very scruffy. Its great to see the final colours coming through, and to watch their transformation.
