UPDATE

Today is Day 15, and the incubator is in lockdown ready for hatching. There was quite a bit of conflicting advice (14 or 15 days), regarding when to stop turning the eggs.

I actually stopped turning half way through day 14, because at least 50% of the eggs were moving and shaking about. I did not want any early hatchers to be caught in the turner while I was as work.

I have reduced the incubator temperature to 37 degrees, and raised the humidity to 65%. I just hope they don’t hatch tonight while I am at work. All being well they will arrive over the next few days, while I am at home. Do you think I will get paternity leave from work when they hatch !! (I must ask personnel).

Now it’s the waiting game, cameras are at the ready. I will keep you updated, hopefully with some pictures very soon.

Regards Bob

Hi Mrs FP

Its day 16, and nothing is happening at the moment. Since they have been in lockdown, there has been very little movement. They must be conserving energy for their great escape, from their tiny shell homes.

1st September (Day 17)

The chicks have been hatching all day, so far 7 have hatched (7/12). I will upload some pictures later.
