My first horsey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's precisely what her former owner was telling me this morning. It's been awhile since Sheba has had a human to bond with. I plan on spending a lot of time with her. I've ridden Arabs before, but I never had my own. I so look forward to really bonding with a horse. While it is much fun, riding schooling horses lacks a certain sense of fulfillment.

i second that! we were discussing that the other day...how we couldnt decide if having a smart horse, or a not so smart horse was better! its a toss up!

she is pretty cute! congrats!
i will say though, i was never fond of arabs. they just arent my kind of horse (it happens)...i like the track thoroughbreds and sport horses a lot more! ive had bad experiences with every arab we've had - they have all had that impossible, bossy personality about them, and i hated it! the tb's let you tell them what to do, it doesnt require much discussion depending on the horse!

anyway, enjoy her

Please give her a big ole smooch on the nose and some serious ear "scritches" from me!

She's not too hot tempered, but she's no slouch either. I like a horse with some spunk as long as their ground manners are good. She's a real sweetie, no nipping, not too much head butting, not ear shy, stands when you mess with her feet. I definitely lucked out. The only problem she has, and it is a big one, is that she wants to get behind the bit, which means she has no brakes. It's a result of how she's been ridden in the past year. After riding her for about half an hour, she loosened up a lot and started listening to my seat. Had she not shown improvement so fast, I'd have passed on her. A rider who balances with the hands can really mess up a horse, even a well trained one.

How gorgeouse! I'm SOOO jealous! I always wanted a gray arab! My son's grandparents have a sorrell one that was retired from being a beach horse. (The ones that they rent out for beach rides). She has the smoothest canter of any horse I've ever ridden. LOVE to ride her.

Kinnip, where've you been? You must be spending all your time keeping Miss Sheba warm!
Is she in the house yet?
