so, a few things I should add. The space heater has been choked down to 300 watts by eliminating all but two wires and adjusting where they are spaced. The thermostat is a fancy remote bulb thermostat you can get online for $50 it's very accurate and reliable. Comes with a diagram too.

I was having trouble with temp swings while it was empty. Not since it's loaded tho. I have a temp sensor wrapped I a bag of water and it's reading 99.5 and is solid as a rock. After it was loaded and brought up to temp I found the air temp swings went down alot as well. The air temp fluctuates between 97.8 and 100.9. And like I said the baggy of water is holding steady. This is it's first run and I'm hopeful it will perform well.

I made this with all scrap or free stuff except the door hardware and thermostat. Total investment is $70. It was a whole bunch of fun to build! I already have plans for the next one. Maybe with a turner!

Awesome! We did something similar but used a cooler. Everything was scrap we found lying around (or nabbed out of a dumpster!) except the wafer thermostat which cost us $30

I'm thinking of doing a cooler bator. I can get all the stuff to do it for free if I use a water heater stat.

Mine has been AWESOME. And the added insulation of the cooler makes the temps that much more stable. 10/10 would build again! (I used one of the guides on here and tweaked it a bit)
