She seems okay at the moment. She's had three days of heavy penicillin doses, plus extra protein and yogurt, blueberries, etc. She acts fine, alert with good appetite, but is so bone thin. We'll just have to hope we got to the infection in time with her.
Yes, she is from a breeder, not a hatchery. All my other six who were affected were from the same hatchery and most of them, the same age. This doesn't only affect hatchery stock, of course, however that has been my personal experience, that it's more prevalent in hatchery birds... six hatchery birds and only one breeder bird have had this here.
BTW, they do on occasion get flax seed in their feed. Haven't heard about pomegranates ,though.
