My first Quail Hatch!

Well, as long as you don't count the infertile/never developed eggs, I have ended up with a 70 percent hatch rate on my quail from eggs that were shipped from clear across the country. Not bad at all considering three days ago I wasn't sure any were going to hatch.

We've woken to five this morning (we set 10 fertile eggs). So, barring sadness, at least 50%.

Awesome! congrats! Of course pictures are needed! LOL... I just ordered my second batch of eggs... Should be here by wednesday and then we start all over again... officially addicted! Lol

I have no idea. I just ordered a dozen eggs and they arrived in the post. Big Bird (the one you see) is the lightest by far. The rest are either black or striped.
We'll see how light it is when it grows. I think it may be fairly white, don't you?

Yea it looks like it... I ordered mine too (Rosetta coturnix) and got 5 very light like yours and 4 very dark out of it... I'm dying to see the colors they come out... I'll keep updating te photos here

So many! Impressive. I think we opened the incubator too many times (I know... but with four teenage kids I think there was peeking) and the last three didn't hatch.
One dropped dead for no obvious reason. I am afraid it may not have figured out how to drink. The other four were doing so well. Sad.
One has splayed legs. Seems very fiddly to fix in a quail....
I winder if we will have a breeding pair? Only seem to have four healthy quails now.

I had five more hatch today and I have one or two with spraddle leg. And I tried splinting them up, but they are so small is just isn't working very well.
