My first structural Fire

That is great news! I think what you are doing is great.

BTW almost any fire/structural fire you go to, you will be someone's hero. They may not know your name but they will feel that way just the same.

As a retired fire captain I know well the excitement and apprehension each time you enter a burning building. You are pursuing a career that will give you extreme highs and a wonderful feeling of accomplishment when someone's life is saved due to your actions. However, be aware that sometimes there is nothing you or anyone could do to save someone and this is a horrible feeling. Don't let those time affect you and at the end of a long career you will be able to look back and say I made a difference.
One word of caution when responding to an alarm, don't let other drivers upset you and cause you to commit what we used to call "sirencide". If you get in an accident you won't get to the scene and others will have to deal with two incidents rather than just the one you were responding to.
Good Luck with an exciting and rewarding career. Stay safe.

i think that is an awesome thing your doing!

Coming from the wife of a firefighter<~~~~Thanks for joining the ranks of some of America's heros. You will experience some amazing things and other things you will wish you never saw. Just know that what you do can and will save lives, save property and save someone's sanity someday. Thank you!!!!

Great job and thank you! You ARE a hero!
I'm surrounded by heroes, at the moment. The Station Fire here in Southern California has proved to be a true monster. Seeing all of these brave fire fighters battle this blaze is really amazing. My God Father, along with most of our family friends are fire fighters, from engineers to Chief's. You always know they are great, but until you see them in action, you really don't know how amazing they are as people and as heroes! What firefighters, police, and medics do is not something that everyone can or will do. You all poses great courage, demonstrate amazing bravery and selflessness, and America is a better and safer place thanks to you! What you do is wonderful! Congratulations, you saved a live! One of many I'm sure!
