I just candled tonight for the 1st time as well. and so far in my brown eggs i have all 4 fertile. Well at least the 4th one i think i see something it was hard to tell. I will try it again in a few days. My other 4 are green eggs from my EE's and had a hard time seeing in those as of now. But will check them in a few days as well.
I became addicted to candling. It was terrible.....I finally decided only to candle on the 15th day. That way I know FOR SURE--no guessing if there is life in the egg. I was driving myself crazy doing that! It is just so fascinating......I'm wondering if a person can candle too much.....I candled like once a day after the tenth day.......oh brother...LOL
I totally agree with you both. I love, love, love to candle. I have done a homemade incubator 3 times now and am just so amazed by it all. Once I candeled and saw an internal pip
I have some green Ameracauna eggs and not sure if I will really be able to really see anything in them. I did try and candle them last night and could see somewhat threw the eggs. but when i looked at the top it looked dark and as i moved the egg it moved with it. So thinking it might be the yolk sac? not really sure or how to explain it. i have 2 lights i use one is like a night light its led and went and got me a mag light flashlight yesterday.
I will try and get you a pic of how I made my candler box and was amazed at how it really wrks. lol
I am going to candle the one brown egg tonight again when i am not rushed to get into bed so early just to confirm and hoping that I do have a chick in the other one I am not sure about.
OH man what have a gotten myself into and I thought Quilting was addicting. LOL
