My Flemish Giants

go to a rabbit show and buy a set of tattoo pliers and ink from one of the vendors. There are rabbit cage vendors at almost every sanctioned show. You can have the breeder do it too. He may already have a tattoo number in his left ear. Ditto on what everyone else has said about registering. if you are interested, learn to raise and show the breed. Once you start going to rabbit shows you will be hooked.

Don't be disappointed if the bunny doesn't do well on the first showing.

Okay, figured it out.

She's a real sweetie-pie!

She's 4 months old, Sarah, so the same age as your boy, right?

I was told by the breeder that a light gray Flemish Giant should have horizontally striped individual hairs. So if you blow on a spot on their back against the fur and it forms a circle it should look like a bulls eye. Supposedly the slate don't do that.

Give it a try! Hoppy's are perfect, little bulls eyes.

You have beautiful rabbits! I've been thinking about adding a Flemish to my bunny herd and you've confirmed it! Thanks for the pics, they're wonderful!

We've enjoyed & loved ours. My son had them as his 4-H project one year. "Blue" did very well for him that year. Did well in his class and went on to win best of show. I bet your little guy would enjoy 4-H too!

If you can't do 4h there are always rabbit shows to consider. I think the min age limit for youth is five years old. Max 19. With fair it depends on your county 4h rules. That is sad they are doing away with it. They have been trying to do that up here in mi too.
