my flock disappeared??

I have a flock of 5 ducks and 7 chickens. When I went out last night to close up the coop only one chicken came running the rest are missing! There were no feathers or anything indicating that something got them. I feel so bad for my one remaining hen being all by herself. Should I get another chicken to keep her company? Any ideas on what could have happened to the other 6?

How upsetting!
I wouldn't worry about keeping the lone hen company for now. She's going to be upset no matter what you do, but definitely try to figure out what happened to the rest!
Is there a break in your fence?
I know this sounds crazy-- but I once read in a book that the predator that leaves no sign at all is the human predator-- could someone have stolen the hens??

How long have you had these chickens? If you got them recently, they may not see the coop as home yet and found another place to roost. Or, something could have spooked them and they scattered. If that is the case, it might take them a day or so to feel comfortable enough to come back. I would leave some food available in some areas where there is cover (so they don't feel so vulnerable) and they may show back up again...
