Admittedly bad broody management. Nugget seems to have given up, two of the blues are sitting on golf balls in one of the nest, the other blue seems to have given up, and Mocha took on the babies.

I think there are 5 of them.

She's a mottled Java and vicious in defense of her nest and babies.

My intent, that I was unable to accomplish, was to put her into a separate area with another nest. But it's been a difficult time.

Tried to get photos of the baby chicks with foster-mama, Mocha (Nugget actually did most of the sitting but Mocha is mothering them), but my aggressive broody isn't allowing anything, even my phone near her precious babies.

I was able to count them properly though -- there are 6. 3 Splashes, one probably dark blue, and 2 blacks.

Nugget definitely gave up -- I got an egg from her yesterday.

Mocha has decided to move her babies into the tote that I gave the hens as an option for brooding in.

Yes, I've been wanting Splashes.

Mocha has not allowed me to get close enough for clear pictures yet. There are 3 splashes, 2 blacks, and one that is either dark blue or black.
