It's funny to me, at least no harm was done.
My MIL is in her early 60's and was at the bank several weeks ago at the teller and just stood there with the pen in her hand for several moments before leaning in and whispering "Excuse me, I'm terribly sorry but I just can't remember my name!"

Sad or what?

I have left my dog out and "forgot" about him. Thank goodness my dog is extremely well trained and doesn't leave the yard because I never bring him out on leash, I just open the door and tell him to go "Make A Pee" or "Make A Poo". On the times I have forgotten him I'll usually hear this barking all of a sudden and have to follow it to the door because my dog barks so infrequently that I don't know it's him at first. There was this one time in late spring that I let him out on a nice day and then got caught up doing housework and found him 3 hours later taking a nap in the sun right outside the door when I went to check the mail

I really do feel awful when it's happened but thankfully it's not often and he's got about 6 tags on his collar and is chipped.
