My dear friend Marcie passed away at home this morning at 7:07AM. Her cancer finally got to be too much to fight for her. She went into the hospital on Friday with chest pains, it turned out to be a partially collapsed lung. The lung completely collapsed yesterday and she said no more, send me home, so they did. They sent her home in an ambulance yesterday with Hospice coming in today to care for her, she didn't even make it 24 hours. Her husband called me this morning with a question so I stopped by on my way to work, she stopped breathing about 1 minute after I walked in.
Thank you for all the prayers you've said for her for the last 18 months of this horrible fight. It came on fast, and took her quickly, but not without a lot of pain and suffering.

I'll pray for her, for you , for him, and all who will miss her-

Heavenly Father, please hold Marcie with grace, love and all of Your joy as she comes into Your heavenly fold. Please embrace and hold close Kate and Marcie's husband and all who will be missing her, breathing peace and comfort into each with all that You are able. Give them joy to know she is at Your right hand and that she is happy and at peace. Thanks You for all You are and all You do, for Your son Jesus and the sacrifices He made. In Jesus's name, Amen.

Kate, have you read the Dragonfly story? It helps me through this sadness.

The Dragonfly

Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads,
there lived a little water beetle in a community of water
beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond
with few disturbances and interruptions.

Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of
their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and
would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their
friend was dead, gone forever.

Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge
to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would
not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what
he had found at the top.

When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the
surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so
warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body
changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful
blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body
designed for flying.

So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole
new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never
known existed.

Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking
by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and
explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been
before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended.

But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could
not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he
understood that their time would come, when they, too, would
know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off
into his joyous new life!

I'm glad her pain is over, forever. I'm sorry that for everyone else, it's just beginning. You are all in my prayers.

Thank you all. It just doesn't seem like last year that I asked you to pray for her when the cancer was found. I'm sorry she's gone but glad she doesn't have to suffer anymore.

I'm so sorry Kate.

I remember when you asked for prayers for Marcie. I was in my own battle at the time........some of us make it, some of us don't.
