My Geese are bullys!!

We've got a tiny deformed chicken who can barely walk and hangs out in our yard (belongs to the neighbors). I was worried about her because she's very small and his own flock nearly pecked her to death. Turns out both our ducks and goslings (8 weeks old) are terrified of the chicken after she gave them all a few pecks. It's pretty funny, I feel sorry for the poor thing because all of the neighbor chickens bully her, but in my yard where everyone is 2-6x her size she gets to be the bully.

That's funny, I'm glad she is safe in your yard.

So my brother ended up not taking the geese, They came over Sunday and in talking to them I let my niece know that these are not chickens, you don't throw them food and fill the waterer once a day and forget them, I let her know they need FRESH water at least twice a day in this heat and a place to get into and clean themselves, that they do poo in the pool and it would need dumped and refilled at least once a day and sometimes twice a day.. My brother (thankfully) is making her show responsibility as being in 4H she is supposed to be working with the animals she has and she hasn't been keeping up with it.
I did let the geese out and the momma hens makes them keep their distance so I am not worried about that, the hen tore into Rio and he ran screaming across the yard, he wont go within 10 feet of her

, I wont be home today but starting tomorrow I will let them out and supervise them with the Turkey Poults.. We had a wild turkey hen wonder into our yard last week and she seems content to stay, believe it or not although she isn't "mothering" the turkey poults they do tend to hang out together and yesterday they all took a siesta together , I almost wonder that she will at least keep the geese at bay and the poults might stick close enough to her to be protected??
Bottom line.. For now, were keeping Rio, Annie and Missy :)

I'm going to spend a lot of time out there working with them more and watching to make sure they behave. ... What is it with these three, I have sold chickens and rabbits and even re-homed a dog and haven't never given a thought as to what would happen after they left, but I have bonded to these three , I don't want them going some place they wont be cared for. I promised myself I would never be "that" person and now I am "that " person...lol..

By the sounds of it, you did your best to put her off them!

They´re beautiful, btw. Is the male the one with more grey on? They´ll get through their teenage time and you´ll really enjoy them.

Ok...so here is a question as I am geese raising stupid....

The one in the front, the multi colored one I believe is the male, the other two have like a ridge running down between their legs, I always though this was the egg tube... am I wrong or would they be males??

I believe that is the male, at least its name is Rio so I hope its the male..

If anyone remembers me, I am the one who was given several goose eggs to incubate for free when I purchased my turkey eggs, Rio was better known as Wrong Way :)

And yah, that is what my husband said, told me I sure didn't make that easy for her lol

Depends on the breed.
Some breeds the males don´t have much of a lobe. Mine have none. Other breeds, the males also have one...or two, but the females´ are normally bigger. It´s not an egg tube, they just carry their weight here. Breeds kept on forage only often don´t have them.
