I have 2 Mini Nubian does. Our chicks (5 weeks old) are living in their house which is in our barn. The goats don't ever use it. Whenever I am out in the barn, the goats ignore me ... except ... when I am taking care of or watching the chickens. Then the goats are all over me. Sometimes I catch them watching the chickens through the screened door. The goats look confused as to why their are chickens in their house!

I've had miniature goats for many years, and I still don't understand what goes on in their brains -- except the desire to be wherever I'd rather they weren't. Mine have never shown any jealousy of chickens, but they seem quite agitated when an occasional Easter egger escapes into their pasture.

I wonder if it's the attention you're showing to your adorable chickens, or if the goats believe the chickens are getting food and want in on the action?
