My goose is gay

The intricacies of goose interactions continue to amaze me.

As one big flock, the majority gang up on the little goose. When the more submissive gander is separated from his buddy, the aggressive gander, and put in a separate pen with the little goose and her "friend" the aggression disappears. Right now they are all loose in an elongated pen with obstacles and places to hide. The gang occasionally chase the lone goose, but for the most part, they leave her alone.

Complications will surely arise when I try to merge the new ducklings and goslings with the gaggle. I am continuously tweaking the areas and hope to minimize any serious conflicts. Hoping the frisky season is almost over!!!

Chickens are easy to raise, ducks are easy to handle, geese are a handful.
But, I love them all!:love
One of my girls was being bullied by my dominant gander, and she became skittish too. Then others started being mean to her, usually when she was the most skittish and afraid, she’s become more bold and is miss bossy now, but it took her awhile. No one really bothers her now.

Sometimes it isn’t the size or any real reason other than that the shy skittish behavior that causes the others to bully them, it’s what seems to annoy the others. 🤔

Update!!!! My goose is NOT gay! Here is her gosling...

Apparently she wasn't ready for the boys earlier this spring. She is the only goose that still has head and neck feathers after a rough first mating season!

Thanks everyone! I couldn't be happier. My end of the season eggs are hatching! In the last 5 days I now have 7 bonus babies. After setting a hundred eggs from my young geese, they have finally gotten things right in the fertile egg department. What a great blessing for our patience!

I once adopted a dog from the local shelter. She was a cool dog but apparently no one wanted to adopt her because the shelter disclosed that she was gay.
They didn't object to the adoption but warned us we'd have problems because we already had a female dog at home.
She never showed any gay tendencies or behaviors once we got her home so I'd assume it was just a case of prison gay for the stay.
Or maybe they were mistaken about her.
That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard :lau:lau Damn, homophobia made its way to dogs

Update on my gay goose. She had several fertile eggs and hatched goslings towards the end of the season. Her girlfriend adopted 4 young goslings and by default the goose accepted them as hers too. I guess it is safe to say, she's not gay, just particular. She was the only female with all her neck feathers in tact after mating season.
