Wait till you see the pip zip and hatch ! you will be so glued to the Incubator .It will be imposable to drag you away :lau , It is all very exciting but the seven day candle and the hatch are the best part . fourteen day eggs are cool if they kick and move but you really have to wait a long time sometimes to see it . that first candle at seven days when they wink at you and then disappear. you go wow look what I've made possible. you didn't do it you set the stage for it . but sill it's so cool to be part of it .

I am not going to eat, sleep, or anything else during lockdown until every last one has hatched. This hatching stuff is more addictive than anything they warned us about in high school.

No doubt it is very clear but look what a air cell . the conditions in your Incubator are near perfect :thumbsup
I thought so.... It looked like un-incubated eggs I candled for practice.

Oh, and I am getting near 100% fertility rates in bantam and EE eggs, but 0-30% in BSL. I need a LF rooster.

Unfortunately, along with higher fertility rates comes agression. Bubbles has started attacking me again, and I am trying to decide if I will have to cull him or not. Right now I am trying good old fashioned thrashing....

The change happened because he is now alpha roo of the flock, he is nearly 2X bigger than Pebbles now. So maybe getting that EE roo will help give him an attitude adjustment.

Better be well rested . and be prepared for a early hatch . Your doing Bantams right ? you have so many coach's you'll be fine .

I will... And I'll stock up on coffee. :caf
I'll start watching even more obsessively day 18... If that is possible?

Yes, 11 bantams and 1 LF. The LF was added 1/2 hour later, it was still hot when I put it in... I didn't think it was fertile, but I was wrong.

Great!! They all look like that, even the lone LF egg.

I have got my Marans roo where he hates my stick worse than me .
lau.gif
I take the stick and poke him in the breast . he attacks the stick and not me . when I gather eggs I move him with the stick and he peaks it while I gather eggs . without it he stills goes after me . I have two lines one is gentle the other very aggressive
idunno.gif
problem is the gentle line has the comb flaw that the Marans breeders don't like . egg color is better from the aggressive live . so I deal with it . Ross and Ravyn would cut his head off. never thought I would laugh so hard at a chicken . he pecks that stick its so funny

That is a hilarious mental image.

By the end of today's "training session" he was hustling his hiney when I told him to. He backs down after the first jump at me, and he is a wimp at heart, so there is hope for him.

I'd have someone cull him, but he is a great flock protector and so nice with the girls, so I'm trying to reform him.
