Rats... if it was the broody, she would have ate the shells... and the membrane was found in coop corner, not near her? I am betting on rats...

And they werent hookbills

Sorry for the chicks though... we have rats here, so broodys are brought inside in a crate til chicks are good and mobile... my Am and BCM will take out rats though, but Silkies will just watch them get picked off...
