Agreed. I knew a chestnut mare once, she was the friendliest horse ever.... First time I saw her, she came over and let me stroke her.... I would just come visit in the pasture and she would sniff me up and down like a dog.
Just seein her was a stress reliver
Brandy was a beautiful bay TNW, severely foundered in her previous owners care... I would go lean against her and she'd lean against me and we would stand there for hours...

Aww... What a special horse.![]()
AwwShe was not ridable anymore... her hooves were an awful mess... we got the swelling down and the splits trimmed out enough that she wasn't in pain, but riding was out for life...
Super intelligent... the leaning eased the pressure on her hooves... if we left her alone, she would lean on the fence til it busted... didn't matter what kind either... she took down a 6 ft stock fence, hot wire, barb wire, you name it...
AwwIma sucker I know how attached we get
I even adopt old animals particularly
Yeah, the usables were the red roans and my fave buckskin quarter horse... miss him... he was trained to neck rein, knee, and voice... could stop on his butt and spin on a dime...
