My heart is broken, Scovey Hen flew off yesterday

I'm not giving up hope, it just gets me down when my husband keeps insisting she's gone. I really don't believe those are her feathers, I went through every single one of them and not one grey/blue in the bunch? Makes no sense to me. Not to mention the feathers were not there the first two weeks she was gone. He thinks I'm being silly by insisting it's not her, so call me silly I don't care...my Scooter IS coming home!! I keep going from a feeling of dread to hope...but mostly hope :)

Her babies will be mules because my only Drake is a Mallard.

We have friends coming in tomorrow from out of town and they'll be here for 4 or 5 days, I promise if Scooter girl shows up while they're here I'll head straight to the laptop to let Ya'll know :)

Sending thankful hugs to all of you!!!!!!!!

Michelle

What if Scooter brings home a "boyfriend"?

You just never know. Though I know you will love her babies mixed or not.

Hoping for the best!

You've gotta remember that she won't just stay out there until the babies have hatched, she may be out there for a little longer until they're more independant! Then they'll all come waddling home, wondering what all the fuss is about - haha!

Oh, and don't forget! Muscovy ducklings take a lil while to hatch, plus they stay in the nest for a day or two and depending on how far away she's taken them, there may be a treck

Once my Cuyahuga duck ran away and didint come back for 2 yrs, all the sudden she just popped up over night and i didnt even recognize her, she looked so much older. She had babies too. Birds tend to fly off to find mates, if there arent any males of her same breed around. If she knows home, she'll go to it. Best of luck finding Scooter.
