I have a BB red OEGB rooster. He is quite handsome and is my little buddy. Well someone told me by next year "HE WANT BE YOUR BUDDY ANYMORE" . Why would someone say such a thing :) . I realize he will change as he matures but he is so friendly and let's me hold him all the time with no fuss. Gesh. But what do ya do? Ill love him anyway. ♡♡♡♡☆♡☆

Some people can be so hateful...all you can do is keep lovin' on your beloved friend and take each day as it comes...

He sounds like the best! That person probably has had bad experiences with roosters becoming aggressive. But hopefully your boy won't! My best buddy is a rooster too. His name is Scribble <3 I have worked hard with him so he is a nice, non-aggressive boy. So far it is working. I am just really calm, and non-threatening, and he has no desire to be aggressive :) I suggest you do the same with your sweetie! I have only had one aggressive rooster btw. And I have had I think 10 roosters since I have had chickens. I currently have 7.. So I don't think aggression is too common. Just keep loving your boy! He'll always be your friend, as long as you are always his

IKR? who needs that kind of negativity?

One of the rooster in my six Marans ( I think I have three roosters and three hens) is the most friendliest of them all, I have to pick him up, he snuggles under my chin, kisses me with his beak and lives it if I kiss his little beak, he's such a baby
Mind you when he's fully grown it should be fun!

I don't think its hateful. Some folks just don't sugar coat things and are straight forward. Some roos stay nice as they get older and some get more aggressive. My own SB OEGB growls ,espec. when I get too close to his favorite hen. But my big(and younger) Sussex's have no issue being handled.

Let it go. People can be jerks. Don't let them get to you. And yes, some roos can get mean as they age. But you obviously are working with him so hopefully he'll stay a sweet pet.

It was meant more as a joke than anything by me posting. I am well aware that rooster mature and change. Really isn't anything to let go. I was'nt mad, it was meant to be humorous smh
