My hearts getting me again...

We all get so up in arms about Easter babies (for good reason), but I got the sweetest little English Angora bunny thanks to Easter regret, and he is the best little house bunny/yarn factory I could hope for.
Thanks for taking the wee ducky.  I have become the neighborhood rescue of late - three blue Araucanas were dropped on my doorstep the other day, days after the new bunny.  I found the chickens a nice home where they are loved already, and think I'll keep a pen empty.  (I have had 4 abandoned critters aside from the chicks brought to me since March.  Good thing I know lots of crazy, young farmers!)  Never know when someone new is going to drop by.

Easter regret is how I ended up with my first birds ever. I get annoyed about it because not everyone thinks to post a Craigslist add or give them to someone with space and ability to care for them. Lots of people just dump them and it angers me.

Petesmom, I can't wait to see your pics.

Oh, I agree Nickie, it makes me crazy. (But I am just so grateful for my little guy I can't express it...) The bunny I got was left in an apartment after the owners moved. Lucky for me someone toured the apartment & brought him to the horse rescue my neighbor volunteers at. She came to me because they don't know much about animals aside from horses over there & are not equipped to house & care for anything else. In the three weeks after Easter they had: 26 chickens, 11 ducks, 4 geese, and an EMU dropped in their pastures. I try to help her find homes for the non-horse animals now fairly regularly, and we have been very successful re-homing most of the critters. Someone brought a gorgeous blue point Siamese there the other day that I am trying to avoid "fostering"...
The crowd I run with are great, but I find it easier to re-home a chicken, turkey or goose in my crowd than a dog or cat. I'd love to foster some bees!
