Yes you need to keep putting it back in till it stays in. You may need to put her in a dark place so she does not try to lay an egg so soon afterwards, it may help she swellng go down some so it will stay in.

I just found this in my standard youg Cochin.... I did what you said, It has come back out. So now I am holding her and trying to keep it to stay in....What causes this?
