Hi everybody,

Wanted to get your advice on this. I have 7 hens, all healthy. last year my white star layer, layed beautiful white eggs. I bought her at 18 weeks so should be producing. she layed from approx august 2012 till january 2013. Since Jan she has not layed at all. Her poo looks normal, still fast and runs around. All the others are fine. I dont know what to do. Ive never wormed before but have used natural de-wormer reccommendations such as pumpkin seeds etc. Ive been checking her vent and it seems normal, i.e. is not
matted with feces, or any sores or wounds around it, no red mite either. I dont know what to do? can anybody help. Many thanks

! Great to have you aboard! I'm not sure of the cause of why your hen stopped laying...I don't think it is necessarily worms but I'm not the person to ask. You might post in the link below for more expert advice. Good luck to you!

Here's perhaps another link to try:

You could try worming. Some people worm once or twice a year, some more than that, some never. I worm once a year with Valbazen.

Is it possible she is moulting? Sometimes this isn't that apparent, and it sounds like she is around the right age, although they vary in this as well. It's also possible she has some internal problem such as internal laying or ovarian cancer, which are unfortunately fairly common, parictularly in hatchery birds. I'll give you some links to look over.
